1. How do I create a new listing or event?

You will need to Register on the site before you can create a listing.

Then follow our “How to Create a Listing Document” or “How to Create an Event Document“.

 2. There is no suitable category for my business or organisation. How do I request one?

Please contact us via the Support page with details about your business and we can create a new category.

3. How do I edit my listing?

Make sure you are logged in to the site.

At the top right of the screen, click where it says “Welcome, ” followed by your username.

You will see a list of all your listings. Click on the listing you want to edit.

Click on the Edit Listing button.

Click Save Changes when you are done.

4. I have not received my account activation email.

Firstly please check your spam or junk email folder.

You can try resending the email, by clicking Login at the top of the screen. Enter your username and password and click the Login button. Click the link to Resend Activation Email.

If you are still not receiving your activation email, then please fill out the support form http://goldenbayonline.co.nz/wp/support/ and we’ll be in touch to assist.

5. Why does my listing not appear yet?

If you have chosen to pay by Bank Transfer, your listing will not appear until your payment has been received and we have manually approved your listing. If your listing is not visible in 48hrs, please contact us via the support page.

6. How do I get support?

7. How do I get my listing to be on the Featured Slider on the front page?

Make sure you are logged in to the site.

At the top right of the screen, click where it says “Welcome, ” followed by your username.

You will see a list of all your listings. Click on the listing you want to edit.

Click on the Upgrade Listing button.

This will go to a screen showing you that you already have have the $20 annual subscription and asking you which option you want to add.

Select the Feature on Home Page for 30 days option and click Continue.

8. This is supposed to be a site for the benefit of the community, why do you charge $20 for a listing?

Originally listings on the site were free. Unfortunately this resulted in a huge number of spam postings from businesses outside of Golden Bay trying to get some free online advertising. The $20 charge was introduced along with a change to the terms and conditions, after which spam listings on the site have stopped. I feel that $20 per year should be affordable for even the smallest business and helps to keep the site local.  As a welcome edition, it also helps to cover the hosting and software license fees.
